Vishnu shared that Akshay finally said yes to play the role after being told that, despite various performers having essayed Lord Shiva previously, he had the potential to become the iconic representation of the deity for modern-day audiences.

However, an announcement regarding his participation and the character he will play is still yet to be revealed. The film is currently the production stage, and there are rumors that renowned Tamil director Gautham Vasudev Menon may be onboard.

After its hit run, the series has been translated into Tamil, under the title “Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam”, and now, it has made its debut in Telugu on Prime Video. The lineup is enhanced by Uday Gurrala, Sunny Palle, and Pavani Karanam in key roles. “Panchayat” has been hailed a breakthrough in the Indian web series arena, and fans are excited to see how the Telugu adaptation is received. Named “Sivarapalli”, the Telugu remake features Rag Mayur, known for his role in “Cinema Bandi”, stepping into the footsteps of Jitendra Kumar, who acted as the lead in the Hindi version. Muralidhar Goud and Rupa Lakshmi portray the roles originally played by Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta in the Hindi version. The popular Hindi series “Panchayat,” produced by The Viral Fever, struck a chord with fans through its charming narrative, realistic characters, and lighthearted comedy. Directed by Bhaskhar Maurya and scripted by Shanmukha Prashanth, “Sivarapalli” comprises eight episodes and promises to be a direct replica of “Panchayat.” The series is also handled by The Viral Fever.

The film features the charming Ritu Varma as the female lead opposite Vikram, sharing screen space with a power-packed cast that comprises the seasoned Parthiban, Aishwarya Rajesh, Simran, the powerhouse performer Radhika, Arjun Das, and the multifaceted Divyadarshini in crucial performances.

His star power in the Tollywood Box Office Collection has declined recently, and this film’s performance reinforced this pattern, as it collected suboptimal numbers in the AP and Telangana. Interestingly, the film received polarizing reviews from regional reviewers, which is in contrast with its reception in the Tamil industry.

In a new interview, Hegde expressed her pride in the upcoming film *Retro*, starring Suriya. “I am proud of all my films, but *Retro* stands out as the one I am most passionate about. Star actress Pooja Hegde encountered backlash after wrongly referring to the Telugu film *Ala Vaikuntapurramulo* as a Tamil-language movie, prompting extensive trolling from Telugu audiences. I treasure every aspect of the film—how we brought it to life and brought it to life. I’m sharing this even though I haven’t seen the complete movie yet, as it is now in the post-production phase,” she stated. In this film, Suriya portrays a gangster who sacrifices everything for the woman he loves. The romantic drama, infused with action elements, will also feature Shriya Saran in a guest dance number. Supporting roles are played by Joju George, Jayaram, and Karunakaran, while Santosh Narayan provides the music. Currently, she has not publicly addressed the controversy. The energy on set was contagious, and my character is thoughtfully crafted. Pooja mentioned that her role in *Retro* came about after director Karthik Subbaraj was impressed with her heartfelt performance in Prabhas’ *Radhe Shyam*. With its release scheduled for May 1, expectations are high for *Retro* to bring success for both Suriya and Hegde. The film is produced by Jyotika and Suriya under the banner of 2D Entertainment.

The absence of hype surrounding the Telugu release became evident in its initial performance. The film stars Anjali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in leading roles, while noted comedian Santhanam has a crucial role. Limited promotional efforts in this region also contributed to the film’s dull reception.

However, it witnessed disappointing footfalls across the board. Even in a key revenue zone like Coastal Andhra, *Madha Gaja Raja* faced a dismal turnout, with viewers favoring Victory Venkatesh’s *Sankranthiki Vasthunam* instead. To maximize revenue, the producers released a Telugu adaptation, which debuted recently.

Vishal’s highly anticipated film, *Madha Gaja Raja*, which has been in the works for over a decade, finally premiered during the Pongal festival. The movie, directed by Sundar C, gained traction from the disappointing run of Ram Charan’s *Game Changer* and the nonexistence of star-studded films in the Tamil film industry, raking in over ₹50 crores at the TN ticket counters.
